We pair searchable definitions with articles and interactive tools so you can understand language the way it shows up in memes, DMs, and short-form video—not only in textbooks.
SlangWatch is for anyone who hits unfamiliar slang in the wild—parents decoding group chats, educators and coaches keeping up with students, English learners, writers, and anyone interested in how culture moves online.

Reading the dictionary, exploring the blog, and using most of our tools is free. We want the core resource to stay easy to open and share.
If we add optional paid features later, they will be clearly marked; the main reference content is meant to remain accessible.
Crowdsourced dictionaries can be quick and wide-ranging, but quality and tone vary because entries are not consistently vetted. SlangWatch focuses on reviewed definitions, consistent formatting, and context—origins, usage notes, and sensitivity where it matters.
Community submissions matter here too; the difference is that they are edited and fact-checked before they go live.

If nothing turns up, try a different spelling or shorthand; slang is often written in several ways. You can also explore recently added terms or community favorites.
Yes. Head to Submit slang and share the term, what it means, real examples, and region or origin if you know them.
We read every submission, but we only publish when we can verify usage and write the entry to our standards. That keeps the dictionary useful instead of noisy.
After you submit, our team checks whether the term is in active use, whether the meaning matches real conversations, and whether the entry meets our tone and safety guidelines.
